CETCO's patented needlepunching
process provides high peel and sheer strength through a uniformly
high density of needlepunched fibres. |

BENTOMAT ST
Bentomat ST is a reinforced GCL
consisting of a layer of Volclay sodium bentonite encapsulated
between two geotextiles, needlepunched together for maximum
performance under a wide variety of field conditions. This
integrated matrix of bentonite and needlepunched fibers provides
high shear and allows Bentomat to maintain low permeability.
Bentomat ST has a wooven, slit-film upper geotextile for
maximizing intimate contact in composite liner systems. |
Advantages
-
Natural enviromental stress from
freeze-thaw cycles has no affect on GCLs performance. CCLs can crack
under these conditions, leading to a significant increase in leakage.
-
GCLs offer better resistance to
differential settlement which is common in land fill cover
applications, and can be handled by the GCLs high tensile strength and
bentonite's high plasticity and self-healing capabilities.
-
GCLs provide higher performance and
occupy virtually no air space.
-
Installation are less sensitive to
inclement weather conditions.
-
Factory controlled quality, reduces the
cost of CQA testing in the field.
-
GCLs reduce hauling costs and associated
impacts. It takes up to 150 truckloads of clay to equal the coverage
of just one truckload of GCL.
